Current international status of NAAU
Activities conducted by NAAU are widely recognized in the European Union and the whole world. The National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine is a member of international and regional organization for accreditation.
NAAU is a category А member of the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and a signatory to the EA Multilateral Agreement (EA MLA) in such areas of accreditation as testing and calibration laboratories, medical laboratories, products, processes and services certification bodies, management systems certification bodies, personnel certification bodies, inspection bodies and validation and verification bodies.
EA acknowledged that all activities of NAAU comply with the established regulatory requirements in the field of accreditation. Thus, NAAU performs activities recognized at the level of the European Union. NAAU recognition by ЕА
NAAU is a Full member of the Global Accreditation Corporation Incorporated and a signatory to the Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA) of the Global Accreditation Corporation Incorporated in the areas of accreditation provided for testing, calibration, medical laboratories, inspection bodies, bodies certifying management systems, products, persons, validation and verification bodies.
Since 2014 NAAU has been a Full member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and a signatory to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ILAC MRA) in such areas of accreditation as testing, calibration, medical laboratories, as well as inspection bodies. As of 01 January 2026, NAAU ceased to be a member of ILAC.
Since 2016 NAAU has been a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and a signatory to the Multilateral Arrangement on Mutual Recognition (IAF MLA) in the areas of accreditation provided for bodies certifying products, persons, management systems, validation and verification bodies. As of 01 January 2026, NAAU ceased to be a member of IAF.
A new international organization was created to replace IAF and ILAC - the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, which officially has commenced its operation from 01 January 2026.
NAAU strategic objectives in international activities
The further development of relations with EA and the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, extension of recognition in these organisations as well as further cooperation with accreditation bodies of the European Union and the world, further work within the framework of this cooperation on mutual recognition of accreditation activities are in priority for NAAU.
