Organizational structure of the national accreditation system of Ukraine

Accreditation is a procedure, by which the national accreditation body confirms competence of the legal entity or the relevant conformity assessment body (CAB) to conduct certain types of works (testing, calibration, certification, and inspection).

 Accreditation provides:

  • Uniform technical policy in the sphere of conformity assessment;
  • Confidence of consumers in results of conformity assessment activities;
  • Conditions for mutual recognition of accredited CABs’ performance at the international level;
  • Removal of technical barriers for business.

 Accreditation is conducted by NAAU according to the Law of Ukraine “On Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies” with regard to the requirements of international and European accreditation standards in the main areas:

While conducting accreditation, NAAU is guided by relevant recommendations of international (ILAC and IAF) and regional  (EA) accreditation organizations.
