A meeting of the Presidium of the Technical Accreditation Committee (TAC)

On June 14, 2013 at the Department of Technical Regulation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine held meeting of the Technical Accreditation Committee (TAC).

The following issues were discussed at the meeting:

- Consideration of proposals for actions from TAC members to NAAUin case when a CAB re-renders its application for accreditation after the cancellation of its accreditation certificate.

- Regarding the accreditation of medical laboratories and the use of the standard ISO / IEC 15189:2012.

- Regarding the NAAU’s translation project of the standard ISO / IEC 17065:2012 “Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies that certify products, processes and services.”

- On the draft General Agreement between NAAU and conformity assessment bodies (CABs) to replace the Agreements between NAAU and testing laboratories (F-8.1.27) Calibration laboratories (F-08.02.27), certification bodies (F-03.08.27 ).

- Reporting on the activities of TAC subcommittees SC-01 “Machinebuilding and Engineering”, SC-04 “Construction”, SC-09 “Medicine”.

- Information from the Deputy Chairman Mr. Gorytskyy on participation in the meetings of the EA General Assembly (29-30 May 2013) and the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (06-07 June 2013).

- Consideration of applications for membership at the TAC.

After discussing these issues, members of the Presidium adopted recommendations, including:

- In case of cancellation of the accreditation certificate of a CAB, the right to submit a new application for accreditation of such CAB will be in one year after the cancellation of the certificate.

- NAAU to develop a mechanism regarding the responsibility of individuals (CAB’s auditors and experts) whose activities led to the cancellation of the accreditation certificate.

- NAAU to set up a working group of stakeholders to address the issues of accreditation of laboratories in the field of medicine.
