By the Decision of the MLA Committee of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) dated 4th of November 2009, the national accreditation system of Ukraine has been recognized in the sphere “Accreditation of bodies for certification of persons”. On the 25th of November 2009, National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) has signed an Agreement on Mutual Acceptance of Personnel Certification Certificates with European co-operation for Accreditation which represents the signatories to the EA MLA for certification of persons.

This provides evidence that NAAU, being the national accreditation body conforms to all of the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17011 and corresponding recommendations of the European and international accreditation organizations.

The signed Agreement foresees that the signatories to the EA MLA for certification of persons and NAAU will:

  • recognize the operation of their nationally recognized accreditation schemes as being equivalent;
  • accept on an equal basis the certificates issued by their accredited certification bodies;
  • promote the acceptance of certificates issued by their accredited certification bodies by all users in their countries;
  • investigate all complaints resulting from certificates issued by their accredited certification bodies;
  • inform each other of any significant changes in the status and/or operational practices of their accredited certification bodies.

NAAU’s staff congratulates all stakeholders with this remarkable event in the Ukrainian quality infrastructure.
