Training in the field of energy management systems according to ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 50003:2014

December 4 – 6, 2018 NAAU specialists participated in the training on ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 50003:2014 provided by UNIDO. The training was attended by 22 persons who are NAAU internal and external accreditation assessors of management systems certification bodies. The seminar was conducted by Wendy da Cruz, UNIDO International EnMS Expert.

The UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project “Introduction of Energy Management System Standard in Ukrainian Industry” aims to assist the Government of Ukraine in the implementation of sustainable and effective industrial energy consumption practices. The Project will reach this goal by establishing and promoting the concept of industrial energy efficiency (EE) through the implementation of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) in accordance with the ISO 50001 standards and Energy Systems Optimization (ESO).

The internal and external accreditation personnel increased its awareness of the provisions of ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 50003:2014, fulfilled a number of practical tasks and passed an appropriate self-assessment test.

Thus, NAAU fulfilled the requirements of IAF Resolution 2017-14 – Transitional Arrangements for the revision of ISO 50001:2011 regarding measures required for the transition of accredited conformity assessment bodies to the revised standard ISO 50001:2018 in increasing the competence of NAAU accreditation personnel.

The deadline for the transition to ISO 50001:2018 for accredited CABs is 18 months (21 February 2020) from the date of publication of the revised standard.

NAAU expresses its gratitude to the UNIDO/GEF UKR IEE Project for the high professional level demonstrated in the course of organizing and conducting this training.
