Meeting with CUTIS project representatives

The second working meeting between representatives of the project “Canada-Ukraine Trade and Investment Support Project” (CUTIS) and NAAU was held April 14, 2017.

At present, the Project is at the development stage of an implementation plan of the Agreement on a free trade area between Ukraine and Canada.

The degree of harmonization of the national accreditation systems of Ukraine and Canada was discussed at the meeting, as well as the possibility of mutual recognition of accreditation activities between NAAU and the national accreditation body of Canada – SCC (Standards Council of Canada).

It is worth mentioning that SCC like NAAU is a Full member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and a signatory to ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement.

In addition, SCC is a signatory to the Multilateral Agreement on the Recognition of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). NAAU is an Associated member of the European Co-operation for Accreditation which holds a similar international status as SCC.

Thus ground conditions for mutual recognition of accreditation activities between NAAU and SCC are already established.
