The current status of NAAU at the international arena

NAAU closely cooperates with a number of international and regional organizations for accreditation.

NAAU is an Associate member of the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA) and a signatory to EA Bilateral agreement on recognition in the  such areas of accreditation as testing and calibration laboratories, bodies for certification of products, processes and services, bodies for certification of management systems, bodies for certification of persons  as well as inspection bodies.

EA acknowledged that all activities of NAAU are in compliance with the established regulatory requirements in the field of accreditation. Thus, NAAU performs activities recognized at the European Union level.

NAAU is a Full member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and a signatory to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement  (ILAC MRA) in such areas of accreditation as testing and calibration laboratories, as well as inspection bodies. Consequently, accreditation that is provided by NAAU in the above-mentioned areas is equivalent to accreditation that is provided by national accreditation bodies that are signatories to ILAC MRA in more than 80 countries of the world.

Within the framework of the CIS NAAU cooperates with the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (ICS). Participation of NAAU in the work of ICS is due to the necessity of formation of common approaches in the field of accreditation, rebuilding of  economies, transition to a new market relations, the urgency of the problem of ensuring the quality of products, especially their safety.

NAAU strategic objectives in international activities

NAAU strategic objectives at the international level are strengthening of cooperation with the International Accreditation Forum (ÌAF) and the signing of the IAF Multilateral Agreements (IAF MLA) in corresponding areas.

The development of relations with EA, ILAC and IAF, as well as with accreditation  bodies of the European Union and the world, further work within the framework of this cooperation on mutual recognition of accreditation activities are in priority for NAAU.
